VISUAL & PERFOMING ARTS COLLEGE FAIR – October 24, 2015 at UCLA. The event is free. There are metered parking lots with hourly rates, or all day passes for parking. This is a great event to find both art schools and universities with strong art departments and the booths distribute application and scholarship information. It is not a portfolio review event. ART CENTER/ NATIONAL PORTFOLIO DAY – January 17, 2016. The National Portfolio Day for the Los Angeles Area is on Jan 17, 2016 at Art Center College in Pasadena, CA. This is an event where students applying to art schools go and show their artwork to the schools they plan to apply to for portfolio review and feedback before they apply. FREE ART PROGRAMS
CAL ARTS PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAM – Deadline: December 15, 2015. This program provides 10 weeks of instruction during the spring semester for high school students. Students will learn how to use a manual 35mm camera, how to process black and white film, and how to print in the darkroom. Participants engage with CalArts faculty and student instructors in a productive environment where technical and conceptual skills expand. Participants’ work will be celebrated in public exhibitions at selected venues. APPLY HERE!!
