Design Immersion Program at SCI-Arc


Teens change how they see the world in 4 weeks at the Southern California Institute of Architecture.

Students will:

■ Explore careers in architecture and design

■ Visit iconic sites, design studios and museums

■ Learn computer design software

■ Experience college level design classes

■ Build a portfolio for college admission

Bresee Youth Film Festival – Call for Entries


This year’s 9th Youth Film Festival on Social Justice asks your help in solving the gang problem in the City of Los Angeles.  There is more information (including guidelines & how to submit) at the festival’s website:

Art Center Scholarship Opportunity!

Scholarships cover the full cost of one Saturday High class or workshop. Eligible students may apply for a scholarship for any class offered during the fall, spring and summer terms. Scholarships are also available for summer five-day workshops. More info here……

“What’s Your Musical Wish?”


House of Blues/Live Nation is giving away musical instruments to young musicians between 8-22 years old.

To be considered, young people simply have to write a 500 word essay describing why they love music and how the instrument will bring their music to life. Submissions are due by December 2, 2013

Visual Arts College Night (Nov 7th)


What is it? A night focused on how you can prepare for college and scholarship applications

Who should attend? All Visual Arts students and their parents

When? Thursday, November 7, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Where? VAPA Main Theater

Why? Because we want you to be prepared to achieve your college and career goals. Even if you don’t want to go into art, this will still help you prepare for college!
