OPENINGS ACROSS LA: Month of Photography Los Angeles opens a group exhibition of emerging and established photographers, centered in their 2015 theme, “Realities and Concepts.” Participating artists include Sally Peterson, Sabine Pearlman, Luigia Martelloni, and many more. The opening reception runs from 6–9pm at Arena 1 Gallery at Santa Monica Art Studios.

WESTSIDE OPENINGS: Gallery Luisotti in Santa Monica holds an opening reception for Mark Ruwedel: Pictures of Hell from 6–8pm. Coinciding with the release of Ruwedel’s 2014 book, Pictures of Hell, the exhibition is a selection of his photographs of places in the American and Canadian West that have been named for the presumed proximity to El Diablo.

“What’s Your Musical Wish?”


House of Blues/Live Nation is giving away musical instruments to young musicians between 8-22 years old.

To be considered, young people simply have to write a 500 word essay describing why they love music and how the instrument will bring their music to life. Submissions are due by December 2, 2013

Visual Arts College Night (Nov 7th)


What is it? A night focused on how you can prepare for college and scholarship applications

Who should attend? All Visual Arts students and their parents

When? Thursday, November 7, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Where? VAPA Main Theater

Why? Because we want you to be prepared to achieve your college and career goals. Even if you don’t want to go into art, this will still help you prepare for college!
